A Dream: A World of Symphony
Brawijaya Choir Festival is a choir festival organized by the Student Choir Activity Unit of Brawijaya University (UAPSM UB). First held in 1986 as the “Lomba Paduan Suara Piala Rektor”, it was officially rebranded as the Brawijaya Choir Festival in 2009. Since then, the Brawijaya Choir Festival has continued to develop into a prestigious competition in the world of choral music, both at national and international levels.
This time, the 11th Brawijaya Choir Festival will be held on a national stage from February 3-7, 2026, carrying the theme "A Dream: A World of Symphony." This theme is interpreted as a hope for a harmonious world created from the diversity of voices that unite in one complete symphony.
The 11th Brawijaya Choir Festival aims to be a vibrant platform for artistic expression, skill growth, and meaningful connections among choirs across Indonesia. Through this festival, participants can share their dreams and stories, coming together to inspire, unite, and last in harmonious world through music. .

The Choir Competition is a group-based musical performance where vocal ensembles from various regions come together to showcase their harmony, vocal technique, and artistic expression.

Kindergarten Choir
Ages ≤6 years, 12-20 singers, 2 songs (1 unison, 1 two-part), 8 minutes.
Children Choir
Ages 6-12 years, 20-40 singers, 3 songs (Indonesian, foreign, free choice), 1 a cappella, 2-part minimum, 12 minutes.
Teenager Choir
Ages 12-15 years, 20-40 singers, 3 songs (Indonesian, foreign, free choice), 1 a cappella, 3-part minimum, 12 minutes.
Mixed Youth Choir
Ages 15-18 years, 24-40 singers, 3 songs (Renaissance/Baroque, Indonesian composer, free choice), max 1 accompanied, 4-part minimum, 15 minutes.
Mixed Choir
Ages ≥18 years, 24-40 singers, 3 songs (Romantic era, Indonesian composer, free choice), max 1 accompanied, 4-part minimum, 15 minutes.
Folklore
No age limit, 20-40 singers, 3 folk songs (Indonesian, international, free choice), max 1 accompanied, 3-part minimum, 15 minutes.
Popular/Jazz
No age limit, 20-40 singers, 3 popular/jazz songs (Indonesian, foreign, free choice), 1 a cappella, 3-part minimum, 15 minutes.
Music of Religion
No age limit, 20-40 singers, 2 religious songs, 1 a cappella, 3-part minimum, 12 minutes.
Inter-Faculty
Brawijaya University students only, 15-40 singers, 2 songs (Indonesian folk, free choice), 2-part minimum, 10 minutes.

Classical Teenager
Ages 12-17 years, performing 2 songs in 10 minutes: one Indonesian seriosa song and one free choice classical piece (Aria/Lieder/Art Song).
Classical Adult
Ages ≥18 years, performing 2 songs in 10 minutes: one Indonesian seriosa song and one free choice classical piece (Aria/Lieder/Art Song).
Popular Children
Ages 6-12 years, performing 2 child-themed popular songs in 10 minutes: one Indonesian popular song and one free choice popular song.
Popular Teenager
Ages 13-17 years, performing 2 songs in 10 minutes: one Indonesian popular song and one free choice popular song.

Frequently Asked Questions
Get quick answers to a common questions about the 11th Brawijaya Choir Festival.
May participants submit video recordings previously used in other competitions?
Participants may submit video recordings of competitions, concerts, or other performances, on the condition that the recording was made no more than two years ago and corresponds to the category being entered.
Are participants free to choose their repertoire?
Participants may choose their repertoire following the guidelines for the selected category. The entire program must be approved by the Artistic Board of the 11th Brawijaya Choir Festival 2026.
May a team perform the same piece in two different categories?
A piece performed in one category may not be repeated in another category.
Are there any restrictions regarding age, gender, or institutional affiliation?
The competition is open to all, regardless of age, gender, or institutional affiliation, as long as the requirements of the selected category are met.
How many conductors and accompanists are allowed per team?
Each team should have one conductor and may have up to three accompanists.
May a singer or a conductor perform with more than one team?
A singer and/or conductor may represent more than one team, as long as they perform in different categories. Performing in the same category with multiple teams is not allowed.
What if there are errors in filling out the documents?
If errors occur in filling out the documents, participants are expected to immediately contact the committee through the official contact information provided. Revisions can still be made as long as the document submission deadline has not passed.
Is it mandatory to upload the video recording to YouTube?
Yes, all participants are required to upload their performance video to YouTube with a minimum resolution of 1080p. The video link must be entered into the registration Google Form according to the competition category.
What are the consequences if the documents are incomplete?
Incomplete documents may result in participants being declared as not passing the administrative verification stage, thus unable to participate in the competition.
What if technical difficulties occur during document submission (for example, files cannot be uploaded)?
Participants must immediately contact the official contact of the 11th Brawijaya Choir Festival 2026 and include proof of the difficulties experienced. The committee will provide alternative document submission mechanisms.
Can the performance video be submitted through more than one song?
No. Each participant is only allowed to submit one (1) performance video in accordance with the song that will be performed in the competition.
